The Colon Free Zone offers investors: an exceptional tax free
system on imports, re-exportations, manufacture and other
activities; the Dollars as the legal tender currency; low
costs for land and store space; Lease Back System or recognition
of the investment; protection and guardianship of intellectual
property rights; automated future commercial operations.
Today
the Colon Free Zone has at its disposal a Security Department
which is under the direction of the free zone Administration.
This department is responsible for all the security of the
area and the technical training of its personnel. To insure
greater effectiveness in the criminal cases that could occur
in the area, security personnel work 24 hours in coordination
with the National Police and the Technical Judicial Police.l.
A
force of thirty eight units strong reinforces the supervision
of the security, with a bicycle patrol service to reach areas
of difficult access. In addition, traffic personnel have motorcycles,
a fleet of cars and a K-9 Division trained for drug detections
